English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad (EFLU Hyderabad), was established in 1958 as the Central Institute of English, before introducing three major foreign languages, German, Russian and French, and being renamed to Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages in 1972.
EFLU Hyderabad received Deemed to be University status in 1973, and the status of Central University in 2006. Recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), EFLU Hyderabad offers 13 undergraduate (UG), 3 postgraduate diploma (PG DIP), and 18 doctorate (PhD) courses for students to pursue. The UG courses offer the degree of Bachelor of Arts with Honours (B.A (Hons)) in English, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Russian, Spanish, Italian, Performance Arts and Humanities, and Digital Communication. English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad follows an online method of application. Applicants to EFLU Hyderabad are selected based on the merit and eligibility criteria of the applicants. EFLU Hyderabad offers Undergraduate, Doctorate and Post Graduate Diploma courses under the faculty of Arts or Language Learning. Aspiring Undergraduate applicants to EFLU Hyderabad must have passed Higher Secondary Examination from any recognized board with 50% aggregate marks in any stream. Aspiring Post Graduate Diploma applicants to EFLU Hyderabad must have seucred Bachelors Degree form any recognized university with 55% aggregate marks in respective subject according to the concerned department. Aspiring Doctorate (Ph.D.) applicants to EFLU Hyderabadmust have secured Masters Degree from any recognized University with 55% aggregate marks in respective subject according to the concerned department.
