Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College (BCREC), Durgapur was set up in 2000 as a flagship unit under Dr. B.C. Roy Group of Institutions. Located in the industrial hub of Durgapur, BCREC has become a premier centre of technical learning and research. BCREC Durgapur has also signed an MoU with Cambridge Marketing College which has enhanced the College’s connectivity. BCREC Durgapur is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT).
BCREC Durgapur offers 9 undergraduate (UG) and 6 postgraduate (PG) courses. The UG courses that students can pursue at BCREC Durgapur are B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering with specialisations in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, or Data Science, Computer Science and Design, Information Technology, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The PG courses on offer are M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering-Modern Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering-Power Systems Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering; Master of Business Administration, and Master of Computer Application.

BCREC Durgapur provides the best available infrastructure for the holistic development of students. The three-storied Library building named Dr. Meghnad Saha Central Library contains over 90000 text and reference books, and provides a Book Bank facility to the students. Members can also access a large collection of digital and online resources such as CDs, DVDs, and e-journals. Separate hostel facilities for boys and girls are present on Campus which provides boarding and lodging, common room and internet facilities. There are 3 boys' hostels accommodating 816 students and 2 girls' hostels accommodating 452 boarders. Promoting a healthy lifestyle, the College has provisions for various outdoor and indoor games such as football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, chess, and carrom. BCREC Durgapur also has a well-equipped gymnasium with separate male and female trainers, as well as a recreational room where a visiting yoga trainer provides daily classes to the students.
Apart from spacious classrooms furnished with all necessary teaching aids, BCREC Durgapur also has acoustically built smart classes for ICT-enabled teaching in all Departments. BCREC Durgapur also has air-conditioned and fully equipped auditoriums and seminar halls, as well as an amphitheatre with a seating capacity of 900. BCREC Durgapur has over 90 specialised laboratories equipped with cutting-edge technology, along with 2 Language Labs and 1 Computing Lab. The AICTE-IDEA Lab provides access to CNC Wood Cutter, CO2 Laser Cutter, 3D Printers, 3D Scanner, Electronic Design Assistance (EDA) etc. The Medical Unit on Campus has a resident physician in collaboration with The Mission Hospital, Durgapur. Additionally, BCREC Durgapur Campus has 2 food courts providing delicious food at nominal rates, along with a rainwater harvesting facility, solar photovoltaic power plant, generator backup, parking space and CCTV coverage.

Admission Procedure
Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur admits students who have passed their 10+2 board examinations and have secured a valid rank in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) or Joint Entrance Examinations Main (JEE Main) to apply for courses under B.Tech degree. Eligible candidates can opt for BCREC during the counselling procedure after qualifying the aforementioned entrance examinations. Those who are want to admit PG (M.Tech, MBA, MCA) course in various stream must complete their bachelor's degree from a recognised university with required marks.The shortlisted candidates are required to complete the admission procedure and confirm their seat at the College Campus.
