Dr. B.C. Roy College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences (BCRCP), Durgapur was established in 2005 under the aegis of Dr. B.C. Roy Group of Colleges on a lush green 4-acre campus in the industrial hub of West Bengal.

Named after the renowned man of medicine, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, BCRCP, Durgapur has undertaken the mission of providing world-class training and becoming a global institute of excellence in the field of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences. BCRCP, Durgapur is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and is affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT).

BCRCP, Durgapur offers 1 undergraduate (UG), 1 diploma (DIP) and 4 postgraduate (PG) courses for the students to pursue, as follows UG - B.Pharm; DIP- D.Pharm; PG - M.Pharm in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Industrial Pharmacy, and Pharmaceutical Analytics. Students can register online via the official College website to apply for admission to the aforementioned courses.

Classes are conducted by highly qualified professors who have significant exposure to industry and research.

The Training and Placement Cell at BCRCP, Durgapur organises placement drives, inviting reputed companies such as Medica Super Speciality Hospital, Alkem Laboratories Limited, Zuventus Healthcare Ltd., Apollo Pharmacy Limited, Alembic Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Mission Hospital Ltd., Macleods Pharmaceuticals, Troikaa Pharmaceuticals, Cipla Limited, and many more for recruitment.

BCRCP, Durgapur provides the best available infrastructure to ensure the holistic development of the students. The Acharya J. C. Bose Central Library/Resource Centre at BCRCP Durgapur has a collection of 12204 books under 3370 titles, 31 national and international journals, periodicals, and various other printed texts. The Digital Library has CDs and DVDs, and an e-learning facility through NDL and DELNET. Students at BCRCP, Durgapur are accommodated at separate hostels for boys and girls within the Campus. The hostels have all the necessary utilities as well as separate indoor gymnasia for male and female students accompanied by qualified trainers. The College also has indoor and outdoor sports facilities for football, cricket, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, carrom, and karate. There is an on-campus cafeteria where the students can enjoy snacks, beverages and other nutritious meals at affordable prices.

Regular classes at BCRCP, Durgapur take place in smart classrooms equipped with online teaching and lecture delivery facilities. The practical sessions are carried out in 20 well-equipped specialised laboratories. The College has a CPCSEA-approved animal house and a medicinal garden for students to garner hands-on experience. The Language Laboratory and Simulation Laboratory help the students gain relevant practical and soft skills. The Computer Lab at BCRCP, Durgapur allows access to QSAR-Study and computer-based Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCS) provided through the SWAYAM site of the Government of India. The medical facilities at BCRCP, Durgapur are covered under the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra (PMBJK) Unit on the College premises which offers generic medicines at affordable prices. There is a Medical Unit on the Campus and an MoU with Mission Hospital, Durgapur, for medical emergencies and health checkups. BCRCP, Durgapur also provides a Students Safety Insurance Plan to all students during their tenure. Additional facilities at BCRCP, Durgapur include the Netaji Open Air Auditorium, the Acharya P. C. Roy Seminar Hall, ATM facilities inside the Campus, fire-fighting facilities, pharmaceutical museum, generator, elevator and CCTV monitoring.

Admission Procedure

The admission process at Dr. B.C. Roy College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences, Durgapur is carried out by registering the students online followed by physical reporting with the necessary documents after paying the required amount of fees. The students (co-ed) are shortlisted based on merit and are provided a seat in the B.Pharm or D.Pharm courses. Eligible candidates for B.Pharm are admitted as per the merit list based on the rank they obtained in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) or Joint Entrance Examinations Mains (JEE Mains) after passing their 10+2 board examinations. Eligible candidates for D.Pharm are admitted as per the merit list based on the centralized or Institute-level Common Entrance Test (CET).
