Dhruba Chand Halder College (DCHC) is one of the renowned colleges of South 24 Pargana that imparts education to a larger section of the student population of South 24 Pargana district belonging to a comparatively backward underprivileged people of the society. DCHC South 24 Pargana was established in 1965 and was formerly known as Dakshin Barasat College.

DCHC South 24 Pargana's mission is to provide modern teaching aids to fulfill the quest for academic excellence through a group of eminent teachers and professors and a well-blended course and curriculum. A wide range of liberal arts science and commerce courses are provided by the college under affiliation with the University of Calcutta. Distance learning courses are offered under the affiliation of Netaji Subhash Open University.

Stipends and scholarships are given on basis of caste and financial background. Kanyashree Prakalpa- a West Bengal Govt. sponsored scheme. The students are provided with frequent counseling sessions to bring out their inner potential.

DCHC South 24 Pargana hosts seminars for the students on job options and personality development skills in collaboration with different placement institutions.

Admission Procedure

Students are required to apply online for admission to the different undergraduate courses, through Dhruba Chand Halder College, 24 Pgs (South) website. A candidate who has passed the H.S. (10+2) or its equivalent examination (except vocational course and distance education mode) are eligible to seek admission to any of the undergraduate courses like B. A/ B.Sc/ B.Com Course, provided he / she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100 and not registered under any university earlier.
