College of Medicine and Sagar Dutta Hospital, Kolkata (CMSDH Kolkata), also known as Sagar Dutta Medical College, was established in 2010. Apart from the College of Medicine, the Hospital itself has been functioning since the 1930s as Sagar Dutta Charitable Hospital and Dispensary. The Hospital was taken over by the Government of West Bengal under the Sagore Dutta Hospital Act of 1958. Approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the Indian Nursing Council (INC), CMSDH Kolkata is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Science.

Students can pursue 2 undergraduate (UG), 11 postgraduate (PG), and 8 diploma (DIP) courses at CMSDH, Kolkata. The UG courses offer the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc); while the PG courses offer the degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) under different specialisations. Admission to the UG and PG courses for MBBS and MD is based on the candidates’ performance in NEET-UG and NEET-PG respectively. For the B.Sc and Diploma courses, students can apply for admission online via the official website of the College.
