Cambridge Institute of Technology (CIT), Ranchi was established in 2001 at Tatisilwai in Jharkhand. CIT, Ranchi is promoted by the Cambridge Trust of India, and has since become a renowned technical Institute in the country. CIT, Ranchi offers 5 undergraduate (UG) and 3 postgraduate (PG) courses. The UG courses are B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering; while the PG courses offered are M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Computer Aided Design / Computer Aided Manufacturing) and Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering), and MBA.
All courses are approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and the Institute is affiliated to the Jharkhand University of Technology.

CIT, Ranchi provides the necessary infrastructure to ensure the overall development of the students. The Central Library at CIT, Ranchi is maintained according to the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) and houses a large collection of books, and national and international journals. The Library also has subscriptions to technical and non-technical magazines as well as daily newspapers. The Digital Library of CIT, Ranchi has DELNET and internet facilities with e-journals and NPTEL access for virtual learning. The students at CIT, Ranchi are taught in smart classrooms, accompanied by practical sessions in several departmental and course-specific modern laboratories. There is a Computer Centre and an English Language Lab as well, to hone the vital skills of the students. Additionally, Cambridge Institute of Technology Ranchi also has Research and Developmental Laboratories. The Campus is fully Wi-Fi enabled.

Candidates who have qualified for their 10+2 level examinations and have secured a valid Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) or Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE) conducted by JCECE Board rank can then opt for admission to B.Tech degrees in the Cambridge Institute of Technology, Ranchi during the counselling process after the publication of the merit list.
CIT Ranchi also offers a postgraduate degree (M.Tech / MBA) degree with various specializations, Interested candidates can apply through their official website. For an MBA degree candidates must qualify CMAT ( Common management aptitude Test) with valid marks. Final admission is based on personal interview and merit basis.
