The Calicut University, Mallapuram (CU, Malappuram) is the largest university in Kerala in terms of its size, associated institutions, and the number of degrees granted. It was founded in 1968. The University serves the educational needs and aspirations of young people in the Malappuram region which is one of the educationally backward regions in Kerala. The slogan of the university is, "Nirmala Karmana Sree," which means that "prosperity shall be developed via pure activities". Under the status of autonomy, UoC offers various UG, PG, M.Phil & Ph.D. programs through its associated institutions in a methodical manner for students. The Calicut University's Placement Cell seeks to connect students with employment possibilities with reputable international corporations, governmental agencies, and private sector businesses. Placement aid, career counseling, and self- and social entrepreneurship training are served by the placement cell. Calicut University, Malappuram created the Directorate of Admissions (DoA) in 2014 with the goal of streamlining the admissions process for its affiliated colleges and university teaching departments. The primary goal of the Directorate of Admission is to conduct centralised admissions to various UG, PG, M.Phil & Ph.D programmes offered by the University and its associated institutions in a methodical, open, and accommodating manner for students while adhering to all reservation laws.

All enrolled students will receive placement aid, career counselling, and self- and social entrepreneurship training. By offering university infrastructure, the placement cell guarantees logistic support to the visiting employers during the placement process. The placement cell will serve as a liaison between the industry and the students and will primarily help the students choose their career paths and streamline the hiring process for all businesses in accordance with their needs. To help students who are finishing their studies at the Calicut University's, Malappuram find suitable employment and internships, the placement cell will maintain close touch with a number of firms.
