Calcutta Institute of Technology (CIT), Howrah was established in 2004 on a lush green 33 acres campus in Uluberia township. Being situated off the National Highway No. 6, CIT, Howrah is well connected via roads and railways, being just 2km away from the Uluberia Railway Station. CIT, Howrah is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

CIT, Howrah offers 6 undergraduate (UG), 2 postgraduate (PG) and 4 diploma (DIP) courses in engineering. The UG courses are B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering. The PG courses are M.Tech in Chemical Engineering and Master of Computer Application, while the diploma courses are in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. CIT, Howrah not only has experienced faculty to train the students well but also a Training and Placement Cell which helps them plan their careers going forward.

CIT, Howrah has all the necessary infrastructure to ensure the overall development of the students. The Library at CIT, Howrah houses a large volume of texts including books, journals, magazines, periodicals and research publications. Reading Room, Book Lending and Book Bank facilities are also available to the students. The Digital Library is facilitated by high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity and furnished with a large pool of digital and online resources such as e-journals and CD-ROMS. Separate hostel facilities for boys and girls are present on the campus of CIT, Howrah. The Canteen provides hygienic drinking water and serves lunch, tea, coffee, snacks, cold drinks, etc. at nominal prices. The sports facilities at the Institute include provisions for indoor and outdoor games such as football, cricket, table tennis, carrom and chess for the well-being of the students.

The students at CIT, Howrah are taught in spacious and airy classrooms, aided with modern facilities. The practical knowledge of the students is developed in several specialised departmental laboratories. Apart from these, a Computer Centre with high-speed internet is available which students can access for internet surfing, printing, scanning, etc. The entire Campus is Wi-Fi enabled. CIT, Howrah provides first aid and medical facilities to the students, along with ambulance services in cases of emergency. Hospitals are present within a 1km radius of CIT, Howrah and can be accessed at any time. CIT, Howrah also provides transportation from Kolkata and Uluberia Railway Stations, and has banking and ATM facilities on campus as well.

Admission Procedure

Students can submit their applications for admission to Calcutta Institute of Technology, Howrah online via the official website of the Institute. Eligible candidates for B.Tech who have passed 10+2 examination and have secured a valid rank in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) or Joint Entrance Examinations Main (JEE Main) can apply online through the admission portal of the College and follow the subsequent steps to avail admission. Eligible candidates for Diploma in Engineering who have passed 10th standard examination and have secured a valid rank in Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnics (JEXPO) can apply online through the admission portal of the CIT, Howrah and follow the subsequent steps to secure admission.
