B.P. Poddar Institute of Management and Technology, VIP Road (BPPIMTVR) is a private management and technical education institute affiliated with the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), West Bengal. BPPIMTVR was instituted in 1999 under the B.P. Poddar Foundation for Education trust in memory of the educationist, philanthropist, and founder of the B.P. Poddar Group, the late Badri Prasad Poddar.

Courses offered by BPPIMTVR include B.Tech in four specialisations. The institute also offers postgraduate programmes which include M Tech in two specialisations and MCA. Admissions into B.P. Poddar Institute of Management and Technology, VIP Road are conducted based on the candidates’ scores and ranks secured in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WB-JEE) administered by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board, subject to the passing of their 10+2 examinations from a recognised board in the relevant stream.

B.P. Poddar Institute of Management and Technology, VIP Road also hosts, organises, and participates in a plethora of extra-curricular and cultural activities, thus ensuring a holistic educational experience for its students. Students of BPPIMTVR have participated and won laurels in events such as Smart India Hackathon, Bengalathon, and HackwithInfy competition (organized by Infosys). BPPIMTVR has an NSS cell and houses several forums such as the performing arts forum, literary forum, orator’s forum, visual arts forum, technical forum, and sports forum.

The BPPIMTVR campus is situated at VIP Rd, Mali Bagan, Kolkata and houses state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities which include high-speed internet, smart classrooms, spacious seminar halls, well-equipped language, computer, and course-based laboratories, a well-stocked library with a digital repository, a canteen, a medical assistance cell, sports facilities, and separate hostel accommodation for boys and girls.

Admission Procedure

To be eligible for getting admission to B.P. Poddar Institute of Management and Technology, VIP Road (BPPIMTVR), candidates must pass the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE), which is administered by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board, as well as the Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent Examination from a recognized Council/Board. The admission process is based on scores secured in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations.

BPPIMT Vip Road also offers Post Graduate programs ( MCA / M.Tech) with various specializations, Interested candidates can apply through their official website. For their M.Tech degree candidate must qualify for an entrance examination PGET conducted by the MAKAUT University. And for the MCA degree candidate must qualify for an entrance examination (WB-JECA) West Bengal Joint Examination for the Master of Computer Applications with valid marks.
