Bishop Kurialacherry College For Women, Kottayam (BKCW, Kottayam) college began its operations on July 5, 1965, with Sr. Mary Xavier as principal. The college is named after the venerable Mar Thomas Kurialacherry, Changanacherry's first native bishop and the founder of the Congregation of the Sisters.  BKCW, Kottayam actively engages in the conception and execution of innovative approaches for the advancement of students and society. The college was upgraded in 1980 and is affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University.

BKCW, Kottayam courses include 10 undergraduate, 7 postgraduate, and 1 research program from the faculties of liberal arts, commerce, science, and management & business management.
