Bijoy Krishna Girls College, Howrah (BKGCH), was established in 1947, and initially called Howrah Girls’ College. The mission of BKGC Howrah is to enlighten and educate our students so that they can find their own niche in society; to raise social, economic, and political awareness among students so that they can play a guiding role in the overall socio - economic advancement of the country; and to promote the cause of girl students who come from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds and assist them in establishing their own entity.
BKGC Howrah is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), and is affiliated to the University of Calcutta (CU).
Students can pursue 56 undergraduate (UG) and 5 postgraduate (PG) courses at BKGC Howrah.
