Bhairab Ganguly College (BGC), Kolkata was established in 1968 on a sprawling campus off the Barrachpore Trunk Road in Kamarhati, West Bengal.

Recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and affiliated to the West Bengal State University, BGC Kolkata offers 27 undergraduate (UG) and 4 postgraduate (PG) courses for students to pursue. The UG courses offer the degrees of Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Bachelor of Arts with Honours (B.A (Hons)), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Bachelor of Commerce with Honours (B.Com (Hons)), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), and Bachelor of Science with Honours (B.Sc (Hons)). The PG courses offer Master of Science (M.Sc), Master of Arts (M.A), and Master of Commerce (M.Com). Admission to BGC Kolkata takes place online via the official website of the College.

Admission Procedure

Bhairab Ganguly College, Kolkata follows an online method of admission. Applicants to BGC Kolkata are selected based on their merit and eligibility criteria. BGC Kolkata offers Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses under the faculty of Arts, Commerce and Science. Aspiring BA applicants to (Undergraduate) BGC Kolkata must have passed Higher Secondary Examination from any recognized board in any stream. Aspiring B.Com applicants to BGC Kolkata must have passed Higher Secondary Examination from any recognized board with Commerce subjects. Aspiring B.Sc applicants to BGC Kolkata must have passed Higher Secondary Examination from any recognized board with respective Science subjects according to their concerned department.
