Bengal School of Technology, Hooghly (BST), is a leading pharmacy college in eastern India with cutting-edge infrastructural facilities. The Supreme Educational Development and Charitable Organization (SEDCO), a charitable trust, founded BST, Hoogly in 2006 as an eventual result of the ideas, dreams, and creativity of a group of entrepreneurs and philanthropists with the goal of transforming the bright youngsters of our society who have chosen Pharmacy as a career into competent, skilled human resources, to meet the dynamic challenges of the pharmaceutical industry, hospital pharmacy, pharmaceutical entrepreneurship, and other allied healthcare sectors.
BST Hoogly offers a diploma (D.Pharm) and an undergraduate (B.Pharm) programme, along with 2 postgraduate (M.Pharm) programmes with specialisations in Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology. BST Hoogly is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Technology for the B.Pharm and M.Pharm courses, and West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development (WBSCTVESD) for the D.Pharm programme. BST Hoogly provides an excellent faculty, as well as conducts regular recruitment drives, with companies such as Cadila Pharmaceuticals Limited, CMC Limited, Cipla, Lupin Pharmaceuticals Inc., Torrent Pharma, Dey's Medical, Dr. Reddy's, Medopharm, Macleods, Wipro, Cognizant, Alembic, Narayana Health Hospital, Medplus, and many more, participating.
BST Hoogly provides the necessary infrastructure for students to acquire quality knowledge and develop the necessary skills in the field of Pharmacy. BST Hoogly Library is stocked with the latest books, periodicals, journals and CDs. The students can also avail of reprographics and computer printing services. Scholarship application assistance is also provided to the students at the BST Hoogly Library. Several course-specific laboratories that are equipped as per the AICTE norms are present at the BST Hoogly.
A Computer Lab and a Language Lab are also available for the students to help them acquire the necessary skills to be industry ready. Additionally, a Medicinal Plant Garden and an Animal House, set up and maintained as per Committee for the Purpose of Control And Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA) guidelines, are also present. BST Hoogly also has separate laboratories for research and development, and a rainwater harvesting facility.
