Basudev Somani College, Mysore (BSC Mysore), established in 1978, is a prestigious institution that offers education in Commerce, Management, and Humanities in Mysore, a city with a rich cultural heritage. BSC Mysore is recognized by the Government of Karnataka and is affiliated with the highly acclaimed University of Mysore. The Faculty of BSC Mysore is a dedicated and highly trained team of professionals, devoted to providing students with the highest quality of education. There are a total of nine departments at the college with 13 spacious classrooms, all of which have the necessary infrastructure. Six of the classrooms have LCD projectors, and some have smart boards too. BSC Mysore provides wireless internet connections to students, which makes it easy for them to access curriculum-related information quickly. BSC Mysore has also set up well-equipped laboratories and an InfoTech center that has computers installed with all updated essential facilities. There's a seminar hall/board room too, which can seat 50 people, and an Auditorium with ICT equipment and 300 seating capacity in the upper campus, which is used to organize workshops, seminars, and conferences. The BSC Mysore library has a vast collection of books, reference books, general competitive exams books, journals, magazines, newspapers, and previous year's question papers. The college has also subscribed to U.G.C sponsored N-list for using E-Books and E-Journals. BSC Mysore offers both indoor and outdoor sports facilities to its students, with the college availing a university playground for various outdoor games, such as cricket, football, handball, kabaddi, kho-kho, and tennikoit. Indoor games are played in the college sports rooms, such as Table Tennis and Chess, and there's a well-furnished gymnasium hall too. BSC Mysore also houses a Yoga Centre. Students have access to a bank and an ATM on campus, as well as a canteen. There are hostel facilities available too - specifically for female students.
Basudev Somani College, Mysore has implemented a "Career Guidance & Placement Cell" to disseminate valuable information about career opportunities to students. The primary aim of the cell is to equip students with the knowledge of how to prepare for competitive exams and acquire soft skills to ace interviews. Consequently, the cell regularly arranges various career management programs and campus interviews for students who show interest throughout the year. As a result of our efforts, the students have been successfully placed in organizations with both national and international recognition. BSC Mysore is proud to have several students who currently hold prominent positions in national and multinational corporate organizations.
