Barasat College, North 24 Parganas (BC 24 PGS(North)), was established in 1972 as Barasat Evening College.
Recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and affiliated to the West Bengal State University, BC 24 PGS(North) offers 18 undergraduate (UG) and 8 postgraduate (PG) courses for students to pursue. The UG courses offer the degrees of Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com); while the PG courses offer the degree of Master of Arts (M.A) in different specialisations. Admission to BC 24 PGS(North) takes place online via the official website of the College.

Admission Procedure
Barasat College, North 24 Pgs conducts an online admission procedure in which the students (co-ed) are required to visit the website and apply for the course. The students are provided with undergraduate courses like BA, B.Sc, B.Com, and postgraduate course like MA with multiple specialization. The students are required to pass their 10+2 examinations with qualifying marks. The final admission will be provided on the basis of merits scored by the individual students.
