Bankura Sammilani Medical College (BSMC), Bankura was established in 1922 by the Bankura Sammilani Medical trust to promote medical education, research and healthcare for the people of Bankura. Later it was taken over by the Government of West Bengal. 

The Institute affiliated with The West Bengal University of Health Sciences offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various medical, surgical and paramedical education disciplines. The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course offered by the institute is approved by the Medical Council of India. 

Under the able guidance of highly experienced doctors, the students of BSMC are exposed to intricate details of the subject matter. The faculties provide the students with hands-on learning of the subject matter along with a practical-oriented approach to the subject matter. 

BSMC, Bankura provides its students with proper infrastructural support for a better understanding of the subject matter and for their convenience.
