Krishnaswamy Vandayar of Poondi, AVVM Sri Pushpam College, Thanjavur (AVVMSPC Thanjavur) is a private, aided, self-finance and co-educational institution located in Poondi village, Thanjavur district. With its autonomous status spanning 35 years, AVVMSPC Thanjavur is affiliated with Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu, and recognized by UGC. The campus of AVVMSPC Thanjavur is set in a sprawling sylvan surrounding 85 acres, which creates a peaceful learning environment for the students. To begin with, AVVMSPC Thanjavur boasts spacious classrooms, including 7 smart room classes and 16 ICT classrooms. These classrooms are equipped with modern teaching aids, such as LCD projectors, which facilitate effective learning among students. AVVMSPC Thanjavur also has well-equipped labs that cater to the scientific and technical needs of the college's various departments. Furthermore, AVVMSPC Thanjavur has a sprawling library that houses 96,565 books and 5,858 back volumes of periodicals and scholarly journals. The library functions in a peaceful atmosphere, an airy two-storeyed building (1858 sq.m) facilitated with an e-gate register and an Internet center which is used by all the departments. AVVMSPC Thanjavur has excellent infrastructure facilities that cater to extra-curricular activities as well. There is an open-air auditorium that can accommodate 2000 people, an indoor auditorium with a capacity of 400 seats, and departmental seminar halls for workshops and activities. AVVMSPC Thanjavur has established an indoor sports training facility, a gymnasium, and a yoga and meditation center. Indoor and outdoor stadiums, billiards enclave, court facilities for various games, and track and field are also available. AVVMSPC Thanjavur has facilities for indoor games like table tennis, chess, carom, and billiards. To cater to the needs of the students, AVVMSPC Thanjavur has a nationalized bank and a post office inside the campus. There is also a separate hostel for both boys and girls, providing comfortable accommodation with Wi-Fi-enabled reading rooms, a canteen, and health facilities.
