In North East India, the establishment of Asian Institute of Nursing Education, Guwahati (AINE Guwahati) marked a significant milestone as it became the region's first privately owned nursing institute in 2004. Dr. Unmona Borgohain Saikia was the founder of AINE Guwahati, which operates under the INS Trust, is acknowledged by the Indian Nursing Council and the Assam Nursing Council, and is affiliated with SNDT Women's University. AINE Guwahati's library is another impressive aspect of its infrastructure. It has a vast collection of titles and volumes of reference books, textbooks, and journals required for teaching and learning activities. The library has well-designed stack rooms, a periodical section, a reference section, a magazine section, internet connectivity, CD viewing, and more. In addition to classrooms and a library, AINE Guwahati has five well-equipped laboratories, including the Nursing Art Laboratory, the Medical-surgical Nursing Laboratory, the Community Health Nursing Laboratory, the MCH Nursing Laboratory, and the Nutrition Laboratory. These facilities allow students to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical environment. One of AINE Guwahati's unique features is its attachment to Parental GNRC Hospital. This means that students have the opportunity to learn and practice nursing in a real-life, hospital setting. For students who come from out of town, AINE Guwahati has its own hostel with a mess facility. Students can avail themselves of comfortable accommodations and food during their studies. Additionally, AINE Guwahati has two big buses that provide transportation for students to and from the college, bringing greater convenience to students' lives.
Since its inception, AINE Guwahati has consistently placed 100% of its graduates. 99% of AINE Guwahati graduates begin working at GNRC Hospitals immediately after completing their relevant degrees. The students have been placed in a variety of institutions, including RIMS Manipur, Tata Hospital Kolkata, Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital Mumbai, Max Hospital New Delhi, Asia Heart Foundation Mumbai, and AIIMS New Delhi. The students are also employed locally in GMCH, ESIC Hospital, all Assam government nursing colleges, all Assam private nursing colleges, and numerous other public and private nursing institutions as well as in Dubai.

Admission Procedure
Asian Institute of Nursing Education, Guwahati offers undergraduate, postgraduate, post basic diploma in different nursing disciplines.
Candidates applying for the B.Sc course must be female, unmarried and pass HSC(10+2) with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Biology, Chemistry with English and have a valid score in the entrance examination conducted by AINE Guwahati which is a combination of a written test and a personal interview. Admission to the Post B.Sc course is made on the basis of HSC result, GNM certification, and scores obtained in the personal interview.
Candidates applying for the M.Sc and Post Basic Diploma course must be a registered nurse/midwife and have a B.Sc (basic/post-basic) Nursing degree with a minimum of one-year of work experience. Interested candidates need to fill out the available application form online on the official website and follow the required eligibility criterias to secure admission at AINE Guwahati.
