Army Institute of Fashion & Design (AIFD), set up by the Army Welfare Education Society in 2004, is located in Bangalore. The institute aims to provide a professional and technical education to its students, covering areas of apparel management and fashion design.
Currently, the Army Institute of Fashion & Design offers two degrees at the undergraduate level. These are B.Sc. – FAD and B.Sc. – IDD. They admit 60 candidates every year to each of these programmes. Army Institute of Fashion & Design is affiliated to the Bengaluru North University and is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). In addition to an education, AIFD is also committed towards given their students a holistic experience of the fashion and design industry. To facilitate the same, they have ample opportunities for industrial visits, internships and placements, as well as participation in seminars and workshops. Admission to the courses are granted on the basis of marks scored in the online admission test. Eligibility is determined on the basis of marks scored at the class 12 level. In their effort to make quality education available to every student, there are a number of scholarships available for needy and deserving candidates.

The selection is based on merit for the courses offered by the institute through an Online Admission Test.

Headed by an appointed faculty member, the placement cell organizes various training sessions as well as facilitates and helps students with internship opportunities. The campus partners include brands like Adidas, Puma, Aditya Birla, Raymonds, Nike, Globus, Shoppers Stop and many more. AIFD Bangalore is ranked fifth on all India based on the best placements and it is close to 100% every year.
