Established in 1942 during the Quit India Movement, Ananda Chandra College, Jalpaiguri (ACC Jalpaiguri) has attained a prominent position in North Bengal, in terms of size, quality, and performance. ACC Jalpaiguri is a pioneering institution of higher education in the sub-Himalayan region of West Bengal, known for its academic excellence. This Government Sponsored College is affiliated with the University of North Bengal and is managed by a Governing Body under the control of the Director of Public Instructions, West Bengal. ACC Jalpaiguri received recognition from the University Grants Commission under categories 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act in April 1956.

ACC Jalpaiguri offers BA (H), BSc (H), and MA degrees. ACC Jalpaiguri follows an online admission procedure and the form can be obtained from the college's website.

The Faculty of ACC Jalpaiguri is a dedicated and highly trained team of professionals, devoted to providing students with the highest quality of education. ACC Jalpaiguri has state-of-the-art classrooms and lecture halls that provide an ideal learning environment. The labs are well-equipped with modern equipment and tools that enable the students to conduct experiments and research with ease. The library is a treasure trove of knowledge, housing over 43,400 books, including reference books, and six journals, five periodicals, and six newspapers. The library subscribes to the UGC-INFLIBNET N-LIST program, which provides access to a vast collection of academic content. ACC Jalpaiguri boasts two large playgrounds, home to facilities like a 400 Mts track, Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Hockey, Kabaddi, and Kho-Kho playfields. ACC Jalpaiguri also has an enormous gymnasium (with a carpet area of more than 7200 sq. ft.), a badminton court, a volleyball court, table tennis, and Gymnastics. The canteen is the hangout spot for the students, serving delicious food at affordable prices. The indoor auditorium and seminar hall are used for hosting various cultural and academic events, while the smart classrooms are equipped with audio-visual aids that aid in interactive learning. ACC Jalpaiguri also has a hostel facility to accommodate outstation students.
