Shri. Shathrughnan Sinha, the former Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, inaugurated Amrita College of Nursing, Kochi (ACN Kochi) on 1st November 2002. ACN Kochi is recognized by both the Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council and the Indian Nursing Council. ACN Kochi is committed to promoting excellence in nursing education, research, and the development of leadership skills and human values. ACN Kochi is located in a dedicated building within the Health Sciences campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus and boasts a sophisticated infrastructure, highly skilled faculty, and a focus on instilling values based on India's rich traditions and ancient culture. ACN Kochi is acknowledged as a center for observation visits by students and faculty from within and outside the state.

Located in the heart of the city, ACN Kochi is the perfect destination for students who wish to pursue a career in nursing. ACN Kochi boasts of a sophisticated infrastructure that facilitates academic excellence. With its well-equipped laboratories, large auditorium, well-stocked library, well-connected smart classrooms, conference rooms, seminar halls, and other amenities, ACN Kochi provides the perfect environment for learning. To support practical learning, ACN Kochi provides various laboratory facilities including mannequins and simulators. These facilities are divided into several labs: Pre-clinical Lab, Advanced Nursing Lab, Community Health Nursing Lab, Maternity Nursing Lab, Child Health Nursing Lab, Nutrition Lab, Computer Lab, Audio Visual Lab, and Language Lab. The campus library boasts an extensive collection of nursing journals and textbooks, both domestic and international, totaling 7000 books and 20 online databases including CINAHL Complete, Clinical Key, Delnet, Dynamed, Nursing Reference Center Plus, Ovid, Oxford, Proquest, Sage, Scopus, Springer, UpToDate, and Wiley. Additionally, the library provides access to 1775 online nursing journals and 73 online textbooks. There are playgrounds with courts for badminton, basketball, and volleyball. Additionally, facilities are offered for a variety of indoor activities, including chess and table tennis. A multi-station gym and facilities for table tennis and badminton are also available along with a football field, a cricket pitch, and a 200-meter track. For those who are interested, yoga and meditation lessons are led by qualified instructors. Hostels on campus offer students a comfortable and secure living environment, complete with 24-hour security, WiFi, and CCTV coverage. ACN Kochi also provides medical support whenever needed, to all its inmates. Students who don’t live on campus can avail of the college bus facility for transportation.

Admission Procedure

Amrita College of Nursing, Kochi offers BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees. ACN Kochi follows an online admission procedure and the form can be obtained from the college's website.

For BSc admission, candidates must pass HSC(10+2) from any board and the final admission will be done on the basis of Amrita Entrance Examination- Life Sciences, Agriculture and Medical Sciences (AEEL).

And for MSc admission, candidates must complete a bachelor's degree and for a Ph.D. degree, postgraduation is required. Both MSc and PhD final admission All India entrance examination conducted by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
