Amala College of Nursing, Thrissur (ACN Thrissur), operating under the umbrella of Amala Institute of Medical Sciences, was established in 2005 as a response to the societal need for quality nursing education in the state of Kerala. With a focus on maintaining high standards of education while keeping costs affordable for students, ACN Thrissur was founded with an initial intake of 50 students. The Indian Nursing Council and Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council have both recognized ACN Thrissur, which is affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences. ACN Thrissur has a reputation for academic excellence spanning many years and is currently the most popular private nursing college in Kerala.

ACN Thrissur offers BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees. For BSc admission, candidates must pass HSC(10+2) from any board. And for MSc admission, candidates must complete a bachelor's degree and for a Ph.D. degree, postgraduation is required.

The Faculty of ACN Thrissur is a dedicated and highly trained team of professionals, devoted to providing students with the highest quality of education. With a range of qualifications and expertise, the faculty is dedicated to creating an engaging learning environment and to helping students reach their full potential.

ACN Thrissur has nine ICT and Wi-Fi-enabled Lecture Halls that provide students with a comfortable learning environment. Additionally, students are receiving practical skills through seven well-equipped laboratories, which help them develop their technical skills. ACN Thrissur has a seminar hall, conference rooms, AV aid rooms, and an auditorium that cater to various academic needs. The auditorium is equipped with the latest technology that provides an excellent platform for hosting events, cultural programs, and seminars. The library at ACN Thrissur is meticulously curated, housing over 4421 books, including 900 reference books, 360 CD-ROMs, 12 international journals, 18 national journals, 363 bound volumes, and 259 dissertations and projects. The library is an excellent resource for students who want to enhance their knowledge and stay updated with the latest happenings in their field of study.  ACN Thrissur playground caters to three games: football, basketball, and volleyball, which are utilized by students and staff for conducting various outdoor games. Indoor facilities are also available for indoor games such as badminton, chess, and carrom. ACN Thrissur has comfortable and well-furnished hostel facilities (both male and female) for all students admitted to B.Sc and M.Sc nursing courses within the premises. Additionally, for the convenience of students, there are ATM facilities, buses, a cafeteria, and a health center. Special facilities for people with disabilities are also available to ensure that all students can access ACN Thrissur's resources.

The Career Guidance and Placement Cell at ACN Thrissur plays an active role in aiding students to secure better job prospects in their desired fields. Acting as a mediator between graduating students and potential employers, the committee's primary objective is to place eligible and interested candidates in numerous sectors as per their preferences. The Cell's activities are initiated by teaching faculty from different departments, who collaborate to assist each student in exploring placement opportunities. This is achieved by inviting agencies for career counseling, campus recruitment, and skill enhancement training. ACN Thrissur provides a plethora of career guidance and placement programs, aimed at identifying students' needs by organizing coaching classes, conducting orientation, and providing information about various job opportunities. In addition, the cell organizes various capacity enhancement programs to ensure that each student is well-equipped to pursue their desired career.
