All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur (AIIMS) was established in 2018. The major emphasis of the institute is on providing the best learning environment as well as training facilities which help students to become professionals in the field of health care services. The autonomous institute has been approved by the National Medical Commision (NMC) and the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The faculty at AIIMS Nagpur, both teaching and non-teaching, are dedicated to providing the best service for students. Guest lecturers are also invited to the institute for the betterment of students. The Government-run institution offers an MBBS undergraduate course with a duration of 5.5 years.

Admissions at AIIMS Nagpur are conducted online. Students seeking admission for MBBS must have passed their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education. Eligible students must appear for the NEET and scores obtained in the entrance test determine the selection procedure. The co-ed institution holds a placement cell that helps students by providing interview preparation and internships. Students get recruited by a variety of colleges both in and out of the state.

Spacious classrooms equipped with modern amenities, an auditorium, a seminar hall, a traditional library consisting of numerous books, a digital library, on-campus Wi-Fi and practical laboratories for preclinical subjects are some of the facilities that are available at the Institute of AIIMS Nagpur. Besides, there is hostel accommodation separate for boys and girls, sports facilities including a football field, tennis court, basketball court, well-equipped gymnasium, 24/7 medical facilities and a cafeteria available for students.

Admission Procedure

To apply for admission to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur, the students must appear for The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET). All of the nine AIIMS institutions across India—in New Delhi, Patna, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Rishikesh, Guntur, Raipur, Nagpur, and Bhubaneswar—offer admission through this exam. 

AIIMS Nagpur also offers Post-Graduate (MD/MS) degree programs in various disciplines, To apply for PG degree courses Candidate must complete graduation (MBBS degree ) overall 55% with an internship recognized by the Medical Council of India or institute. And the candidate must qualify entrance examination Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI-CET).

 

Faculty

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur's faculty, both teaching and non-teaching, is a committed group of people who work hard to provide the best services available. Experienced teaching faculty members have received a number of awards. Faculty members sit on a variety of boards and are frequently called upon to give guest lectures. The faculty also invites guest lecturers to enhance the teaching and learning experiences.
