Alder College, Kohima (AC Kohima), initially established in 1992 under the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), was first situated at Kenuozou Hill in Kohima. In its inaugural year, AC Kohima welcomed 120 students, and after four years it moved to Sepfüzou Colony. Since then, AC Kohima has consistently expanded and now caters to numerous students from Nagaland and beyond, offering honors courses across six subjects in the Arts stream. AC Kohima is permanently affiliated with Nagaland University and deemed an institution of recognition under Sections 2 (f) and 12(b) of the U.G.C. Act, 1956. AC Kohima's location away from the town's hectic atmosphere provides a peaceful environment ideal for academic pursuits.

The Faculty of AC Kohima is a dedicated and highly trained team of professionals, devoted to providing students with the highest quality of education. With a range of qualifications and expertise, the faculty is dedicated to creating an engaging learning environment and to helping students reach their full potential.

AC Kohima has an adequate number of spacious, well-lighted classrooms that are designed to accommodate over 1000 students. The classrooms are equipped with modern teaching aids and projectors to help bring lectures and discussions to life. AC Kohima has three ICT rooms that are used for specialized IT lessons and PowerPoint presentations. AC Kohima boasts advanced labs that are designed to support its different faculties such as science and commerce. All the labs are well-equipped with the latest equipment, and the students have access to them to perform experiments and practicals. AC Kohima has a well-equipped library with a wide reading space that provides students with the latest resources on their preferred fields of study. The library uses the software Soul2.0 to automate and manage its operations, making access to books and resources made significantly easier. The students can also use the internet browsing facilities and the e-resources such as e-journals and e-books under N-List from INFLIBNET. AC Kohima has a large, well-equipped hall that provides excellent facilities to promote literary and co-curricular activities. AC Kohima understands the importance of sports and physical activities and has invested in the construction of an indoor stadium equipped for indoor games such as badminton, basketball, and table tennis. Additionally, AC Kohima has a gymnasium that students can utilize to stay fit and healthy. AC Kohima has a functioning canteen that provides a range of healthy and tasty food options to students, faculty, and staff at reasonable prices. There are on-campus hostel facilities available for both boys and girls.

Admission Procedure

Alder College, Kohima offers only BA degree with many specializations. 

If candidates are interested in studying at AC Kohima., they can obtain the required Prospectus and forms upon payment from the campus office. Direct admission is available for students who secured 1st and 2nd Divisions in their previous course. However, for others, admission will be granted based on their marks. All admissions are processed on a first come, first serve basis. Please refer to the notice board for admission dates and procedures, including the total fees due during admission.
