Alagappa College of Technology (ACTECH), Chennai, a part of Anna University, is an institute in the state of Tamil Nadu providing quality education in the fields of technology, engineering and allied sciences. ACTECH, Chennai was initially started under the aegis of the University of Madras in 1944. Years later, ACTECH, Chennai was established as a unitary type of university.
At present, the undergraduate courses offered by ACTECH, Chennai include B.Tech in Food Technology (SS), Industrial Biotechnology (Regular), Industrial Biotechnology (SS), Pharmaceutical Technology (SS), Chemical Engineering (Regular), Chemical Engineering (SS), Ceramic Technology (SS), Leather Technology (Regular), Apparel Technology (SS), Apparel Technology (Regular) and Petroleum Engineering and Technology (SS).
ACTECH, Chennai has been integrated with Anna University since 1978. ACTECH, Chennai has also been approved by University Grants Commission (UGC).
ACTECH, Chennai’s classrooms are all fully equipped with microphones, speakers, projectors and smart boards for promoting interactive learning. ACTECH, Chennai also has a well-equipped library featuring an air-conditioned reading room. Wi-Fi facilities are available for the students to avail. Besides, a round-the-clock medical team is even present on the campus to help as and when their need arises. For boys and girls, ACTECH, Chennai provides two separate hostels well equipped with modern facilities covering all the basic amenity needs of the students. ACTECH, Chennai’s admissions is conducted following the online procedure. The final selection is strictly on the basis of merit, post which counselling takes place.

Admission Procedure
Alagappa College of Technology, Chennai conducts an online admission procedure for the students(co-ed) for B.Tech courses with multiple specializations. The selected candidates will be notified through the merit list published on the official website. The merit list will be made out of 200 markings. For SC and ST categories the marks requirement is 40% and for General Category the marks requirement is 45%. The admission details will be posted on the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission website.
Interested applicants can submit an online application for admission to pursue a post-graduate M.Tech degree. Applicants must meet all qualifying requirements, including having an engineering background in graduation and as well as having a passing TANCET score conducted by Anna University. Moreover, candidates must have a qualifying score on the Graduate Aptitude Test of Engineering (GATE).
