To apply for their Postgraduate degree candidate must qualify for an entrance examination conducted by the institute. For an Undergraduate degree candidate must qualify 12th examination with valid marks. Final admission is based on merit basis.

Ahmedabad University, School of Arts and Sciences, Ahmedabad also offers a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD degree) programme with various specializations. To apply for their PhD programme candidate must meet basic eligibility criteria. For a PhD degree, the candidate must complete a master's degree in a relevant field with 55% marks and also qualify for the national entrance examination UGC-CSIR/NET/UGC-NET with a personal interview.
