Academy of Technology (AOT), Hooghly is a renowned self-financed engineering college in West Bengal. AOT, Hooghly was established in 2003 by Ananda Educational Development and Charitable Organisation.

AOT, Hooghly places itself as an academy that inspires independent thoughts among scholars, reinventing itself constantly to explore the wonders of engineering and technology. AOT, Hooghly is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), recognised by the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal, and affiliated to the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT).

AOT, Hooghly offers 6 undergraduate (UG) courses and 1 postgraduate (PG) course. The UG courses are B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Computer Science and Business Systems. The PG course offered at AOT, Hooghly is Master of Computer Application. Students can take admission to the UG courses after passing 10+2 level examinations from a recognised board with an aggregate of 45% marks (40% in case of reserved category students) and English, Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology as subjects, as well as securing a valid rank in WBJEE or JEE-Main. In order to be eligible for the PG course, candidates need to be graduates from a recognised University with Computer /Mathematics as a subject and qualify WBJECA as well.

In order to enhance the academic experience of the students, AOT, Hooghly strives to provide the best infrastructure available. The Library has over 50000 volumes of books, journals, periodicals, and other printed texts. The digital section of the Library allows members access to a host of subscribed as well as open-access journals, e-books, NPTEL web courses, etc. There are 61 classrooms set up with multimedia facilities and 44 specialised cutting-edge laboratories to aid in the teaching process. There are separate hostels for boys and girls and boys within the campus, equipped with all necessary facilities. Provisions for sports and games at the Institute include football, cricket, tennis, basketball, table tennis, and more. AOT, Hooghly has a full-equipped indoor gymnasium, and provides Taekwondo classes to female students. AOT, Hooghly has provisions for water harvesting, as well as round-the-clock medical service and ATM within the Campus that is fully Wi-Fi enabled.

Admission Procedure

 

Academy of Technology, Hoogly conducts an pnline admission procedure for the students (co-ed). Eligible candidates who have passed their 10+2 examinations are admitted to the AOT, Hoogly on the basis of rank secured in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Mains). There is an online portal available for students to register themselves and follow the admission procedure post the counseling process. 10% of seats are reserved under the management quota.
