Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology, Kanchipuram (AVIT Kanchipuram) was established in the year 1998 and has achieved University status under the orbit Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (VMRF) – Deemed to be University Salem. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Council of Architecture (COA), Govt of India, and is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council [NAAC], and all the major programs are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

AVIT Kanchipuram supports Industry Collaborative Laboratories for the students to expand their technical creative instincts. To explore the students' creative wings further, it also has a structured Incubation Centre to help the students transform their ‘ideas’ into ‘products’. The laboratories are pristine and distinctive with high-functioning apparatus and technology services. AVIT Kanchipuram has the largest and oldest among others, which creates both a modern and postmodern ambiance starting with the old architecture of the building to the updated educational and industry-related conduct of the institute.

AVIT Kanchipuram offers bachelor's degrees in six streams of engineering that stretch over 8 semesters. The subjects that are contemplated are Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Biomedical Engineering, Electronics and Communications, and Mechanical Engineering. Master’s program is also available with Master of Engineering [ME] degree in specialisations of Construction Engineering and Management, Power Systems Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, etc. Master of Business Administration [MBA] courses are also offered in Airport & Airlines Management, Healthcare Management, etc. The punctilious faculty garners the academic excellence that they built through the inspiring teaching system consistently. Having said that, over 800 Patents have been filed and 3000 research papers have been published from all the streams of Engineering.

AVIT Kanchipuram increasingly has exposure to global standing by participating in national and International Competitions. The international associations extend students with on-the-job training with internships and other skill-based training which ultimately reflects the students into placements with Globally renowned companies like TATA, Accenture, Wipro, Infosys, HCL, DANA, Sony, Apollo Hospital, etc. AVIT Kanchipuram aids its students with scholarships based on merit categories of the students through the Merit cum Means scholarship program.

Admission Procedure

Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology, Kanchipuram, conducts its admission procedure according to the guidelines of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The students interested in seeking admission at the esteemed College can apply through the university's admission department. The admissions for the undergraduate courses (B.E) are made according to the merits secured by the students in their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board in the relevant subject discipline. The selection of the applicants for the postgraduate degree courses in Master of Engineering, Master of Technology, Master of Computer Application(M.E, M.Tech, MBA) is made according to the merits secured by the applicants in their undergraduate courses in the relevant subject discipline from a recognised university. The selection of the applicants for the doctoral degree (Ph. D) programmes is made according to the merits secured in the postgraduate degree and the University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) exam.
