Baripada: Three incidents of sexual offence, including abuse of a boy, were reported in Mayurbhanj on Wednesday.
Baripada sub-divisional police officer Abhimanyu Nayak said the police had acted swiftly and nabbed all the accused in the cases.
"The accused were arrested as soon as police complaints were lodged. Appropriate action is being taken against the culprits," said Nayak.
Bangriposhi police arrested a 60-year-old for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl. Sunaram Singh of Golmundakata village was caught by villagers when they were searching for the girl. He was handed over to the police after being beaten up. The police sent both for medical tests.
In the second case, Chandua police arrested a 35-year-old man for allegedly raping a 55-year-old woman and produced him in court. Gopinath Singh of Chandua and the woman lived in the same village.
"The woman suffered injuries and is under treatment " said SDPO Nayak.
In the third incident, Badasahi police arrested a 65-year-man on charges of allegedly sodomising a 12-year-old boy. The accused, Budhhiram Majhi, was a resident of Chhelia village.
