Bhubaneswar. Dec 14: The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) will invest Rs 25,000 crore in various projects in the state.
The projects include a 250MW power plant, a solar power plant and expansion of its Talcher thermal power station.
Regional executive director of NTPC Arvind Kumar told newspersons today: "The corporation will set up a 250MW power plant jointly with the Rourkela Steel Plant. We will expand the capacity of Talcher power station with an investment of Rs 7,698 core," Kumar said.

"As we have no expertise to run a medical college, we will hand it over to the state government," he said.
Kumar said the company has introduced mobile science lab for creating awareness amongst students on science education through practical demonstration in remote areas near NTPC projects. "We are also setting up an industrial training institute at Ganjam. It will be handed over to the state government my March 2017," he said.
He said the company has also inked a deal with the state government for a polytechnic at Darlipali, where its 1,600MW power plant is coming up. "Construction is going on in full swing at Darlipali. All efforts are being made to commission the first unit of Darlipali by February 2018," he said.
