Angul: The district administration will organise job fairs at Boinda and Khamar next month to provide employment opportunities to local youths.

This will be the third job fair to be held in the district after 2014 and 2016.

While the Khamar fair will invite unemployed youths from blocks such as Talcher, Kaniha and Pallahara, the one at Boinda will draw youth from remaining five blocks - Athmallick, Angul, Chhndipada, Banarpal and Kishorenagar.

"It is expected that around 3,000 youths will take part in the two job fairs from all parts of the district. While the first fair will be held at the Boinda College on December 7, the second one will be organised at the Khamar College on the next day," said district employment offer S.K. Naik.

Naik said that about 13 to 15 industrial establishments and a group of training partners would attend the fair to recruit youths.

The recruitment will be in private sector and for self-employment.

Naik hoped that the fair would be successful, as last year at Pallahara, about 2,000 youths had taken part in a job fair.

A preparatory meting was held under the chairmanship of the district rural development agency's project director for the successful holding of the job fairs.
