Bhubaneswar, May 20: Anxious moments came to an end for thousands of students across the state with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) results being published today.

The Bhubaneswar region (comprising Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Bengal) registered an impressive 99.31 pass percentage. Around 16,781 students from around 250 schools from Odisha had registered for the exam.

A total of 55,040 students appeared for the exams of which 54,659 passed. Girls fared better than the boys registering a pass percentage of 99.48 per cent.

Of the total 32,349 boys who appeared, 32,087 passed registering 99.19 per cent where as 22,572 out of the 22,691 girls who appeared the exam passed.

Among schools, the Navodaya group of schools fared the best with 99.94 per cent of its students passing. Of the 3,403 students who appeared, 3,401 passed. This was followed by the private schools that registered a pass percentage of 99.38 per cent. Of the 40,593 students who appeared, 40,342 students passed. The Kendriya Vidyalayas came third recording a pass percentage of 99.22.

As many as 340 students, including 238 boys and 102 girls, will have to appear the “compartmental” exams that will be held in July.

Students who have complaints about their scores can log into the CBSE website and register their complaints online using their registration number, school number and centre number.

“They can fill in their particulars and deposit the fee in the form of a demand draft, after which the request will be processed,” said A.S. Verma, regional officer of CBSE, Bhubaneswar.

Last year, around 2,500 students had applied for re-evaluation. Verma said the CBSE has, for the first time, introduced digitised marking for Class X board students. The on-screen marking, said officials, would lead to an error-free evaluation. The biggest benefit of the online marking will be in terms of totalling, he said.

The CBSE Class XII results will be announced next week, he said.

A total of 90 of 273 DAV, Chandrashekharpur students, 33 of 203 students in Delhi Public School Kalinga, 62 of 287 students in DAV Public School, Unit-VIII, 13 of 90 students in Mothers public school and 34 of 121 students in SAI International School have scored 10 Cumulative Grade Point Average.
