Football training for blind

Visually-impaired youngsters from the state will get a chance to display their football skills at a tournament in Kerala held from April 27 to May 1.

Bhubaneswar: Visually-impaired youngsters from the state will get a chance to display their football skills at a tournament in Kerala held from April 27 to May 1.

The new team with visually-impaired youngsters from various districts have been trained for 10 days from April 14 to 24 on the campus of National Career Service Centre for Differently-Abled (NCSCDA) located at Gandamunda in Bhubaneswar under the guidance of Ajay Samal and Trilochan Beura.

The Football Federation for the Blind, Odisha, NCSCDA, Bhubaneswar, and National Association for the Blind, Odisha State Branch, jointly organised the training programme.

Samal said the trained team will take part in a football tournament at Kochi in Kerala from April 27 to May 1. A player said such initiatives will help Persons with Disabilities to go ahead with their lives in a dignified manner.
