
DHAN SENA CRICKET
Guwahati, May 19: Ulubari Higher Secondary School and Delhi Public School registered convincing wins in their respective matches of the 11th Dhan Sena Sinha All-Assam Inter-School Prize-Money Cricket Tournament at Latasil Playground here today.
Ulubari Higher Secondary School defeated Little Star English High School, Six Mile, by 21 runs in a match which had to be curtailed to 15 overs owing to heavy overnight downpour.
Put to bat, Ulubari Higher Secondary School boys put up 125 runs for the loss of six wickets. Azizur Rahman remained unbeaten on 40 runs. Juber Ali bagged three wickets conceding 21 runs.
In reply, Little Star English High School batsmen could only manage 104 runs before being all out in 14.3 overs. Sanjib Rai scored 26 runs. Amar Tigga, Azizur Rahman and Sandidul Islam picked up two wickets each.
In the other match of the day, Delhi Public School thrashed Happy Child High School by 89 runs. Put to bat, Delhi Public School boys posted 167 runs for the loss of three wickets. Aryaman Tewari topscored with a fine knock of 93 runs. Arkadeep Sharma and Chirag Bothra bagged one wicket each.
Happy Child High School batsmen could only manage 78 runs before being all out in 19.5 overs. Yash Mandhania topscored with 13 runs. Priyanuj Bordoloi, Rituraj Biswas and Soham Biswas picked up two wickets each.
