Agartala, Oct. 16: Tripura's first Teachers' Eligibility Test will be held on December 21 to recruit more than 5,000 teachers, in accordance with the provisions of the education policy, 2009.
The examination centres will be in all eight district headquarters - Agartala, (West Tripura), Bisramganj (Sipahijala), Udaipur (Gomati), Belonia (South Tripura), Khowai (Khowai), Ambassa (Dhalai), Kailasahar (Unakoti) and Dharmanagar (North Tripura).
Pratyosh Deb, the controller of examinations of the Teachers Recruitment Board, said it had been constituted in compliance with the provisions of the education policy.
"All formalities regarding the constitution of the recruitment board have been completed and we will hold the first TET on December 21. All candidates will be allowed to apply online from today to November 10 on the board's website - www.trb.tripura.gov.in," said Deb. He said the examination would be held on a single day in two parts. In the first part, candidates applying for post of teachers between Classes I and V will take the exam between 9am and noon. In the second part, candidates for posts of teachers for Classes VI to VIII will take the exam between 1pm and 4pm.
