April 12: Three professionals from Guwahati are in a five-member Rotary Foundation team, which will leave for Canada tomorrow under a four-week group study exchange programme.
Besides team leader Suvrajyoti Sengupta of the Rotary Club of Gauhati West, the others from the city are Neelakshi Mahanta, assistant professor in the department of medicine, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, and Tinatatifa Masood, a TV documentary producer.
The other two members are Areramesh Ramachandran, materials manager in the Durgapur Steel Plant and Diwakar Thapa of St Joseph’s College, Darjeeling. During the trip, the team will study the culture of the host nation.
The Rotary 3240 international district, from which the participants were selected, covers all the seven northeastern states, Sikkim and North Bengal up to Burdwan.
