Aizawl, Oct. 20: The pre-poll alliance agreement made between the Zoram Nationalist Party (ZNP) and the Mizoram People’s Conference (MPC) Party was signed publicly today by Lalduhoma, ZNP president and Zairemthanga, senior vice-president of MPC party, at the Aizawl Press Club.
As per the agreement, there will be 22 common zones with 11 zones going to each party. North Vanlaiphai, Kawnpui, Kolasib, Zawlnuam, Tlabung, Suangpuilawn, Mamit, Aizawl North-I and Aizawl East-I constituencies will go to the MPC. Champhai, Khawzawl, Ratu, Kawrthah, Bilkhawthlir, Serchhip, Sateek, Aizawl East-II and Aizawl South-I constituencies will go to the ZNP. Apart from these 18 constituencies, two constituencies each from Saiha and Lawngtlai districts will be common zones where the two parties will help each other’s candidates.
Should the alliance come to power, all successful candidates will be made to sign an oath.
