Kohima, Sept. 27: Nagaland chief minister T.R. Zeliang has said his government is planning to amend the inner-line permit (ILP) system to facilitate the flow of people from outside the state, particularly cheap labour.
Speaking during a consultative meeting on the Nagaland Special Development Zone here yesterday, he said non-locals would be issued the ILP for at least a year or for six months. He said the 15-day period of ILP was too short for labourers. Zeliang urged people not to be too apprehensive of outsiders coming for genuine business and investment purposes.
