Guwahati, Sept. 28: Medium-pacer Ram Kirpal Gupta?s three-wicket haul left Nagaon (19/3) in tatters, chasing Guwahati?s modest first innings total of 193 at the draw of stumps on the first day of the four-day final of the Nurul Amin Trophy at Goalpara.

The Guwahati innings ended in 73 overs as the top-order failed to capitalise on a good start. Gupta?s first spell figures stood at 7-2-11-3. Guwahati skipper Sajjad Hussain topscored with 40. The other scorers were Citu Das (27), Prantar Sarma (25) and Vishal Jain (26).

Guwahati won the toss and elected to bat.

For Nagaon, bowlers Bhas-karjyoti Konwar and Yadin Islam finished with figures of 3/21 and 3/23 respectively.
