Where it’s always rush hour

Anyone who ever called Calcutta a slow city, a lazy city, an unfit city, will rue those words. In keeping with the trend of gyms cropping up almost as quickly as bakeries around the city, Rush Fitness, which now covers about 50,000sq ft of fitness space in the city, has found reason to open its fifth outlet on Camac Street. This one is a Platinum outlet, complete with a massage room and the works.

“We’re called ‘Rush’ because we give you that adrenaline rush to deal with life in the fast lane these days. Everything is personalised and result-oriented here. Our trainers are always upgrading their skills and we also work with injury cases,” said Ritu Agarwal (in picture) of Rush Fitness who’s looking to launch a range of health food as well as athleisure wear, specially tailored for the Indian body.

“Now that we’ve established two Platinum outlets, we’re looking at Rush Signature, a fitness space of 30,000sq ft that will house everything from a gym to squash courts, a cafe to a restaurant,” said the lady who has ambitions of a fitter, healthier Calcutta.
