Priyanka Chopra says she is elated to see filmmakers going an extra mile to create an innovative movie experience for the audiences. The 35-year-old actress, who launched the interactive trailer of Monsoon Shootout, says leaving the control of the story’s outcome is a masterstroke by the makers of the film. “Shoot or not to shoot? You get to decide what happens next in the trailer for Monsoon Shootout what a cool idea! So glad to see filmmakers innovate and push boundaries of the filmmaking process... Great stuff,” she said. The film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vijay Verma in lead roles as well as Tannishtha Chatterjee.

Suicide Squad director David Ayer says he has no bitter feelings about working on the film. The 49-year-old filmmaker says despite being panned by critics, the anti-hero movie won an Academy Award and was a blockbuster at the box office. Asked by a Twitter user if he regretted collaborating with Warner Bros on the film, Ayer replied: “Not for a second. Not for one second. I got to work with amazing people. It won an Oscar, did incredible business. Launched a franchise and spin-off. And like it or not it’s halfway to cult status. I grew as a person, grew creatively. Warners took a chance on me. I’m grateful.”

It’s clear now that the Rajnikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 is not releasing on Republic Day but in April 2018. The film will be releasing on April 20 and the other movies out that month will be Varun Dhawan’s October and Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika. (Bharati K. Dubey)

Actor Saqib Saleem says he is excited to team up for the first time with Salman Khan in Race 3, the third film in the action franchise. Apart from Salman and Saqib, the film also stars Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah and Freddy Daruwala. “We have shot one schedule. It’s gone very well. We shot some action which I have never done.

I am really excited to see how it looks like,” Saqib said. “Shooting with Salman has been fantastic. He is the best superstar in the country.”

Actress Blake Lively, Deadpool Ryan Reynolds’ wife, was injured during the shooting of Paramount’s spy thriller The Rhythm Section. The actress injured her hand while filming an action sequence, reported Variety. In a statement, a spokesperson for the movie said “production will resume as soon as possible”. The film is an adaptation of British author Mark Burnell’s “Stephanie Patrick” novels and follows a woman (Lively) who seeks to uncover the truth behind a plane crash that killed her family — a flight that she was meant to be on.

Ileana D’Cruz, who has worked with Ajay Devgn on Baadshaho and the upcoming Raid, has said teaming up with the actor is easy. The film is set against the backdrop of the 1980s with Devgn playing an income tax officer from Uttar Pradesh. “We are almost done with it (the film). Working with Ajay has been really smooth. He is one of those people who is just so easy to work with. You forget the fact that he is this big superstar, because he is super easy to work with,” Ileana said.
