June, looking pretty in an off-white sari, dropped by Punjabee Bradree’s Sargi Meet on October 10. Organised by the ladies’ wing of the association, around 600 women came together to ring in Karva Chauth. “This is my first time at a sargi meet. Indian festivals are so vibrant. It’s great to see these ladies dressed up so beautifully, especially the just-weds,” smiled June.

An afternoon of tambola, winning gifts, putting on mehndi and lots of gupshup was in store.

The Saturday Club celebrated sargi on October 10 with shehnai, mehndi, selfies, singing and dancing. Club members sang Dama dam mast kalandar, Ude jab jab zulfein teri and Kala sha kala. There were special gifts for the newly-wed. And there was of course tambola! “I’m excited about my first Karva Chauth but at the same time scared. I hope I can do the fast properly,” smiled recently-married Kiwi Kapoor , a resident of Shakespeare Sarani.
