The worst thing you’ve ever tasted?

I was in Chennai and I ordered some sushi, and the fish was bad. After that, I didn’t touch sushi for eight years and it’s one of my favourite foods. I don’t want to go through that experience again.

What would people be surprised to know about you?

That I am a Bombay girl. A lot of people think I’m from Delhi or some village up north. I’m a Maharashtrian girl, born and brought up in Bombay, never lived in any part of small-town India.

One thing you always have with you on set?

My phone.

Have you ever been mistaken for another celebrity?

Yeah, it’s very embarrassing. During a trip to the US, some people thought I was Priyanka Chopra. I told 
them it’s a great compliment, but no.

A celebrity you are dying to meet?

I want to meet Barack Obama. What a man! I’ve followed his career over the past 10 years. I still try and keep track of what he’s doing because I really like his ideals.

Kittens or puppies?

Puppies.

The best piece of advice you give?

Hard work is the only way you can make it.

Your favourite drunk food?

Butter Chicken.

What would you cook to impress someone?

I can’t cook, but maybe sushi.

If you could do a love scene with anyone, who would it be?

Brad Pitt.

Are you a collector of anything?

I’m a hoarder of everything possible. I really believe in memories, so I have boarding passes, shot glasses from everywhere around the world, fridge magnets.

Your favourite flower?

Lilies.

Your pet name?

Bhumi. I don’t think it gets shorter than that, though a lot of people call me Bhum. A boy was slapped once in school because he started singing ‘Bhum Bhum Bhum Bhum, I want you in my room’. I went and slapped him.

Worst habit?

I really talk a lot.

Go-to workout song?

This techno band called Advent & Industrialyzer. I love techno, I am a complete techno girl. I think techno blossomed around the time I was growing up.
