When: January 10 to 17
Where: Science City Auditorium, GD Birla Sabhagar and Vidya Mandir
On stage: The drama will unfold on January 10 at Science City Auditorium at 7.30pm with Rakesh Bedi’s Simla Coffee House. The following days will see three other productions, with one day dedicated to youth theatre (January 14 at Vidya Mandir, open to all). 
Organiser speak: Calcutta and theatre are inseparable, and we are delighted to present the 14th year of the Vodafone Odeon Theatre Festival. Odeon has now become an important landmark in the cultural calendar of the city, providing a unique and vibrant theatre experience and promoting the arts among citizens. Like the previous years, this year too is a delightful ensemble of plays for the culturally conscious and discerning audience.

Play: Simla Coffee House
Venue: Science City Auditorium

Cast: Asif Sheikh, Rakesh Bedi, Avtar Gill and S.M. Zaheer
Language: Hindi
About the play: Somewhere in Simla, a coffee house is managed by a waiter called Satish Kashyap. Anup Chander, a novelist, comes to this place often to write. He has been writing a popular series titled Tere Chhall. Rahul Verma, an ardent fan of the writer, confronts him in the coffee 
house as he does not agree with certain points in the series. 

January 11

Play: Indur
Venue: Vidya Mandir

Cast: Raja Bhattacharya, Aritra Majumdar, Ramajit Banerjee, Mandira Banerjee, Prabir Aditya
Language: Bengali
About the play: A satirical take on the education system of Bengal and how kids of today lose their simplicity in the rat race.

Play: Boiled Beans on Toast
Venue: Science City Auditorium

Director: Lillete Dubey
Cast: Meenal Patel, Joy Sengupta, Deepika Amin, Maneesh Verma and others.
Language: English
About the play: Bangalore is known for its cosmopolitan feel — its ITwallahs, pleasant weather, cheap beer and deadly traffic. But this Girish Karnad drama revolves around the unsung tales of ordinary Bangalore citizens — homemakers, the non-IT professionals, labourers, senior citizens, the expatriates and others. And their struggles.

January 17

Play: Baap Ka Baap
Venue: Science City Auditorium
Time: 7.30pm
Writer and director: Naveen Bawa
Cast: Padmini Kolhapure, Naveen Bawa, Chitrashi Rawat and Asrani
Language: Hindi
About the play: It is about Jawan (Asrani), a doting father who raises his son Bacha (Naveen Bawa) single-handedly, sacrificing his own needs for love or companionship. His only ambition is to see his son married. But fate has a different design in store for Jawan, as he rediscovers his youth and longing for love in the young and seductive NRI girl, Namkeen (Chitrashi Rawat).
