Bhubaneswar, May 28: Admissions into postgraduate programmes at Utkal University here is scheduled to begin in the first week of June.

“We will declare the Plus Three results for our affiliate colleges in the next two or three days. It has been delayed this year because convocation duties in April kept officials busy. The controller of examinations was tied up, as he is responsible for working out the list of students who receive certificates and medals. That led to a delay in evaluation and listing of marks,” said chairman of university PG council Prafulla Kumar Mishra.

Other higher education institutes including Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, Berhampur University and Sambalpur University have already started their PG admission process.

However, many candidates are keen to apply in Utkal, which offers PG courses in 27 disciplines.

“We will bring out a notification as soon as the degree results are out. The application process will start next week. Like last year, the entire admission process, starting from the filling up of forms to sending admit cards, will be conducted online,“ Mishra said.

Utkal varsity sources said aspirants would be required to submit application fees in the form of bank drafts instead of cash at the university office.

While one draft of Rs 150 should be deposited in the name of the varsity’s controller of finance, the other has to be addressed to the head of the department of the course concerned.

“The draft number has to be mentioned on the online form,” said Mishra.
