Salute to sacrifices

Director-general of police Rajendra Prasad Sharma pays a foral tribute to the policemen who lost their lives across the country over the past year on the 58 th Police Commemoration Day held at the state police headquarters in Cuttack on Saturday.

Director-general of police Rajendra Prasad Sharma pays a foral tribute to the policemen who lost their lives across the country over the past year on the 58 th Police Commemoration Day held at the state police headquarters in Cuttack on Saturday.

The sacrifices of policemen in the line of duty were marked with solemnity on the occasion. The day marks the ambush by Chinese forces of a police team patrolling in Ladakh in 1959. Ten policemen were killed by the Chinese troops. Since then, the day is observed as commemoration day to mark the sacrifices of the men in Khaki.
