Before deciding the furniture’s placement, it is important to consider the selection of them for various areas of your house.
There are a few generic principles in feng shui to select your furniture that will guide you to place them correctly. The most important ones are the centre table and the sofa set.
Before purchasing these items, you must decide the element for the same. A wooden sofa if chosen should be placed in the east or the south direction. North or the northwest direction should be chosen if you are planning to purchase a metal one. The metal items attract positive energy to your house and will also help you build healthy relations with family members.
You can also have a plant placed in the south or a metal ship towards the northern side of the room.
Most of the electronic items, including television, computers, and music system, should be directed towards the west wall. The handheld gadgets such as mobile phones should be kept in the north and northwest direction of the room. A small fish tank can be placed in any corner of the room where you think it will enhance the décor.

West is the right direction to place your microwave. Since an oven is made of metal, you can place it on a wooden board to nullify all the harmful effects.
While decorating your bedroom, you must consider your sleeping position and where you get the best sleep. Your child’s room is equally important and there are many things to consider for the placement of furniture. The west and north are the two directions of utmost importance in your child’s room. The growth of your child also depends upon the placement of the furniture in their room.Always have safe and strong furniture in this room, so that it does not harm your child in any form. Always avoid sharp-edged furniture for your children. North and south are the best directions to place the study table while northeast direction is considered to improve the education luck for your child. Bathroom is the area of your house that is considered to shed loads of energy if not properly managed. Always remember to close the drainage system and the door of your bathroom throughout the day. The lid of the toilet should always be closed or you can lose your finances. Feng shui suggests you to keep your toilet as simple as possible and avoid having any kind of decorative items there.
Having plants in your house is considered very auspicious. It is best to have a garden in the south direction. In case you have your garden in the north direction, you must have less number of plants then. Avoid having tall plants in your garden and instead you can plant small colourful plants.
A wooden seating arrangement in the garden can also be done. Having a small pond in the centre of the garden will fetch you all the positive energy. Place your music system in the west or the north direction, as it is the best. You should have hardy furniture in this room as you might hurt yourself while unwinding.
