Cuttack, July 8: Students can expect to get their matriculation mark sheet-cum-provisional certificates by July 10 at their respective schools, said officials of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha.

Though the BSE had earlier announced that the documents would be provided to the students within seven days of the publication of the results, there has been a delay in the printing of marks sheets. The results were out on June 28.

Board president Satyakam Mishra said the delay would not come in the way of students applying for admissions to Plus Two.

“Students can see their marks posted on various websites and easily fill up the forms. By the time the document verification process for admission begins, they will have received the certificates,” he said, adding that this year, the board would provide certificates made of high-quality handmade paper.

“Since laser printing is not possible on handmade paper, we had to opt for dot-matrix printing, which slowed down the process to some extent. We have already dispatched the certificates to all zonal offices across the state,” Mishra said.

The zonal offices have been entrusted with the responsibility of sending the documents to the schools concerned. “Students can collect their certificates from their respective schools,” Mishra said.

Complaints regarding faulty evaluation of answer sheets continue to flood the special cell set up at the BSE office. So far, board officials have received over 500 complaints.

Within a month from the date of publication of results, a student can apply for rechecking (for addition of marks) by paying Rs 60 and also get a photocopy of the answer book by paying Rs 140. The respective forms need to be filled up at the BSE office.

Guardian Pravat Sahoo from Balangir said his daughter passed the matriculation examination in first division and has secured 500 marks out of 600. However, she has been awarded only 11 marks in history.

“History is a relatively easy subject compared to maths and science and we presume there has been some mistake during evaluation. So we have applied for rechecking of that paper,” he said.

Similarly, students whose results have been withheld because of certain reasons, are also seen queuing up before the special counters at the BSE office.

“I was not booked for malpractice and yet my results have been withheld. That is why I am here to find out what went wrong,” said Arupanada Kar, a student from Bhadrak.

BSE officials said they were taking special measures to ensure the grievances of students were addressed on an emergency basis.
