Jayadev award for Pranab Pattnaik

Singer Pranab Pattnaik (centre) receives the Jayadev Award for lifetime contribution to cinema from tourism and culture minister Ashok Chandra Panda (left) and women and child development minister Prafulla Samal during State Film Award at Utkal Mandap in Bhubaneswar. Members of the Odia film fraternity came together on Tuesday for the 28th State Film Awards. Unlike 2016, no particular film dominated the honours this year. Chini, starring Amlan and Bengali actress Patrali received the Best Film award. Based on a Kosli play, the film has been directed by Pradip Bhol. Ajay Rath was got the best director award for the film Namard. Samaresh Routray has won the best actor award for the same film while Sangita Mohapatra, popularly known as Lipi, won the best actress award for Mimansa. Picture by Ashwinee Pati
