Bhubaneswar, Oct. 17: The third annual convocation of IIT, Bhubaneswar, will be held here tomorrow.
Nine PhD scholars, 39 MTech and 124 BTech students will receive their degrees at the convocation.
Avinash Chander, scientific adviser to the defence minister and secretary, department of defence research and development and director general, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will be the chief guest at the occasion.
S.K. Roongta, chairman, board of governors of IIT, Bhubaneswar, will preside over the convocation and acting director Sujit Roy will award degrees to the successful students.
The President of India gold medal will be awarded to Soumya Prakash Dash of the institue’s school of electrical sciences for best academic performance among the entire outgoing BTech (Honours) batch.
The institute’s silver medals will be awarded to Soumya Prakash Dash, D. Revanth and K. Yuvraj Balaji Rao of the outgoing BTech. (Hons) batch for “best academic performance” in their respective schools,
The director’s gold medal will be awarded to Asha Vijayeta of the school of earth, ocean and climate sciences.
For best academic performance in the respective schools, silver medals will be awarded to Asha Vijayeta, Saragadam Shakar and N. Anand Balu of the outgoing MTech batch.
